The quality of the work we do here at Gray, Gray & Gray is of paramount importance. Critical data and business intelligence demands the utmost in precision and accuracy. That makes Richard Koch’s job as our Quality Control Director an essential function.
Richard is tasked with ensuring our audit work meets strict AICPA quality control standards. He does this by overseeing implementation of accounting pronouncements, keeping our audit staff apprised of professional standards, helping them maintain professional proficiency while meeting regulatory requirements, and monitoring continuing education (CPE) compliance. In addition, he is responsible for administration of the firm’s peer reviews, and manages our participation in the AICPA’s Audit Quality Control Center. Richard serves as Engagement Quality Reviewer on most of the firm’s audits.
Richard’s deep experience in the audit field maked him particularly qualified to take on this important mission. Before joining Gray, Gray & Gray in 2018, Richard spent 12 years as an audit partner with regional CPA firms, including 6 years as an office managing partner, as well as 9 years with a “Big 4” national firm as a senior manager, and also served as director of financial reporting for a Fortune 200 company.
Richard is a graduate of Gettysburg College, where he earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, with a specialty in Accounting. Richard is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA).
