As a Director in our Client Services Department, Marty Kirshner helps to lead our team in providing exceptional accounting, audit and advisory services for clients in various industries. Marty’s depth of experience and attention to complex details helps him to go beyond the numbers and serve as a strategic advisor for clients – from strengthening internal controls and ensuring a thorough analysis of financial statements, to utilizing client data and industry benchmarks to assist clients with identifying opportunities for increased profitability and long-term goal attainment. He also provides comprehensive tax planning and compliance services for corporate and individual clients.
Since joining the firm in 2008, Marty has served as a key member of Gray, Gray & Gray’s Energy Business Practice Group and Employee Benefit Plan Audits Practice Group. He has successfully directed many of Gray, Gray & Gray’s larger corporate audits. Marty oversees all aspects of the audit – from planning, to fieldwork, to reporting. Throughout each audit, Marty communicates directly with the client’s financial personnel and delivers regular in-progress reporting in a timely manner.
Marty is frequently called on to share his knowledge as a guest speaker and seminar leader at numerous events. Most recently, he spoke at energy industry conferences and tradeshows including the Eastern Energy Expo, PGANE, NEFI Energy Expo and HEAT conferences, the Southern New England Energy Conference, and at association meetings for the Connecticut Energy Marketers Association and Oil Heat Institute of Rhode Island. He is a regular contributor to energy industry publications, including Oil & Energy.
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Marty earned his Master’s degree in Accounting at Northeastern University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.
