Westwood, MA (January 30, 2007): Gray, Gray & Gray, LLP is pleased to announce its Gold level sponsorship of the 2007 Massachusetts Family Business of the Year competition, an annual awards program honoring the most successfully run and managed family-owned businesses in the state. The competition is hosted by Northeastern University’s Center for Family Business and the Family Firm Institute’s New England Chapter. The winners of the award will be announced at a special event on May 9, 2007, at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge, MA.
The awards program, which is designed to highlight the achievements of Massachusetts-based, family-owned businesses and entrepreneurs, is currently seeking nominations for the 2007 competition. Any Massachusetts-based family-owned business that includes, or has included, more than one generation is eligible for the awards. Awards will be made in three categories: less than 50 full-time employees; 50-250 full-time employees; and more than 250 full-time employees. Applications are available on-line at www.nuffi.org. Deadline for applications is April 10, 2007.
Studies show that family businesses account for 60% of total U.S. employment and create 78% of all new jobs.
