“We sorted 8,000 pounds of sweet potatoes within boxes of donated food, making over 5,000 meals possible” said Justin Klunder, a member of Gray, Gray & Gray’s Charitable Foundation who participated in helping the Food Bank. “It is heartbreaking to know that so many people in our community go to bed hungry at night, but heartening to know that organizations like the Greater Boston Food Bank are doing so much to help.”
“Our work with the Greater Boston Food Bank is just one way we try to give back to the community in which we live and work,” said Joe Ciccarello, CPA, managing partner of Gray, Gray & Gray. “The mission of the Gray, Gray & Gray Charitable Foundation is ‘Making a difference by actively supporting causes impacting the health and wellness of the community.’ The hours spent helping at the Food Bank certainly supports that mission.”
The Greater Boston Food bank is the largest hunger-relief organization in New England and among the largest food banks in the country. Last year the Food Bank distributed 57.7 million pounds of nutritious food to people who struggle to have enough to eat. We are committed to increasing our food distribution to provide at least one meal a day to every person in need in Eastern Massachusetts while supporting healthy lives and healthy communities.
